RAMEN NAGI

Highly regarded by ramen purists and trendsetters alike, our authentic preparation, bold approach and innovation sets us apart within the sphere of top-quality ramen shops. Our Master Ramen Chef Satoshi Ikuta trained for over a decade in classic Hakata ramen shops before winning a contest for a spot in Tokyo’s famous Tachikawa Ramen Square. Founded in 2004, we have expanded to over 35 restaurants with branches throughout Asia. Our Palo Alto ramen shop is our first US location and the realization of a dream come true.

CHEF SATOSHI IKUTA

Nagi was founded in 2004 by Mr. Satoshi Ikuta at the age of 27. Chef Ikuta, who had trained for over a decade in various classic Hakata ramen shops, began with the practice known as ‘aida kari’, borrowing bar space one day a week to run a guerrilla ramen shop. With his rebellious spirit, Ikuta made a name for himself by first winning a contest for a spot in Tokyo’s famous Tachikawa Ramen Square (noodle theme park). He quickly followed with a successful shop in Shibuya and then Shinjuku Golden Gai. There are now over 35 locations around the world.

DARUMA DOLL TRADITION

Each Ramen Nagi location has its own unique Daruma Doll. Chef Ikuta carries on the traditional Daruma custom and circles in one eye during each grand opening ceremony.

Not until his goal is realized can he fill in the remaining eye. His goal: to successfully bring Ramen Nagi to the entire world!
